Brendan Smith graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2006. In 2006 Brendan was admitted to the Florida Bar. While in law school, Brendan was a member of the competition mock trial team, and a recipient of book awards in Trial Advocacy Practice and Property II. 

Brendan received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of William and Mary and attended high school in the Washington D.C. area.  After graduating from law school, Brendan worked as a criminal defense attorney, first as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami, Florida, then as an Assistant Regional Counsel for the Office of Criminal Conflict Civil Regional Counsel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brendan was lead counsel in numerous felonies and misdemeanor jury trials. 

Brendan is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers-Miami Chapter.   Brendan joined the law firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2018. While a member of the firm Brendan has handled jury trials, bench trials and numerous arbitrations.
